Investment Casting, Wax Carving

The idea behind this sculpture was to make an object that maximized its volume to weight ratio. The ultimate form relies on thin curvature to achieve this end, and its design inspires faunal evocations. Based on a master wax carving, the object was investment cast and subsequently polished and patinated. Note that the form intentionally has two standing orientations.
