With the aim of bringing a Pacific temperate rainforest to a desk top, this garden incorporates mushroom caps mounted in a bed of moss on a piece of walnut. The caps are all made of either bronze or silver, and have been transformed through a number of processes (including heat treatment, patination, reticulation, sand blasting and polishing) to provide a variety of visual effects. All of the caps are based on a master wax carving that was duplicated and investment cast.
